Carole Jean (Altenhofen) Linnenkamp was born to Donovan Altenhofen and Genevieve (Berg) Altenhofen in Harper, Iowa, on Nov. 9, 1939.
She graduated high school from St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Harper.
On Sept. 12, 1959, Carole married Paul J. Linnenkamp at St. Elizabeth Church in Harper. They moved many times in the early years of marriage but eventually settled in the country between Dallas Center and Minburn.
Carole worked many jobs. from retail to Parker Brother games to eventually becoming a cook at the Woodward Resource Center. She retired from the Woodward Resource Center after 18 years.
She enjoyed bowling, traveling and playing card games and board games.
She also enjoyed spending time with her family and loved having the grandkids and great-grandkids visit.
Carole is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul Linnenkamp; daughters, Kim (Ben) Kelton of Perry and Kari Hemphill of Woodward; sons, Kal (Cindy) Linnenkamp of Perry and Kurt (Chris) Linnenkamp of Dallas Center; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie (Dan) Feigt of Montrose, Colorado; and five brothers, Donnie (Lorene) Altenhofen of Eldridge, Iowa, Johnnie Altenhofen of Cedar Rapids, Bob (Cheri) Altenhofen of Keota, Iowa, Terry (Melanie) Altenhofen of Brighton, Colorado, and Randy (Laurie) Altenhofen of Harper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Debbie Lyle; brother, Larry, in infancy; and grandson, A. J. Linnenkamp.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9 from 5-7 p.m. at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory-Perry Chapel. The funeral is Friday, May 10 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Sun Crest Hospice. Arrangements with Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory-Perry Chapel.
