Tyler Scott Delaney, 21, of Adel was arrested Monday on a charge of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

An Adel man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Monday for allegedly assaulting a Redfield woman last week about 90 minutes before he allegedly stabbed a Dallas Center man at the same location.

Tyler Scott Delaney, 21, of 1404 Greene St., Adel, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident occurred Feb. 8 about 8:15 p.m. in an apartment at 909 First St. in Redfield, where Delaney allegedly assaulted a 22-year-old female “by shoving her into a dresser, which caused visible injuries to her back, and he then shoved her onto the ground,” according to court records.

Delaney was arrested later that night at the same location on a charge of attempted murder after he allegedly “displayed a knife and stabbed the victim, causing a serious life-threatening injury,” according to court records.

Delaney is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Feb. 21 in Dallas County District Court on the attempted murder charge. He is scheduled for arraignment April 7 in Dallas County District Court on the assault charge.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
