Avoid dangerous cemetery mementos, city says

Three live rounds of ammunition were found in the grass at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry over the last couple of weeks, according to city officials. The live rounds were a .410 shotgun shell with #4 buckshot, a .357 round and a 30-06 round.

The Perry City Hall has issued the following public service announcement:

Recently, several pieces of live ammunition have been found on the grounds of Violet Hill Cemetery.

Please be aware that any pieces of stone, wood chips, shells, live ammunition, glass of any kind, such as vases or bottles, and any other items that might cause a hazardous condition while manicuring and maintaining the cemetery for visitors will be removed and disposed of as these are strictly prohibited.
