Construction will begin Friday, Sept. 9 on stage 1 of the Bateman Street and Rawson Street improvements, the Perry City Hall announced Thursday.
Crow River Construction of New London, Minnesota, will be placing traffic control devices in order to warn residents of the closure of Bateman Street between First Avenue (Iowa Highway 144) and Third Street.
Travel along First Avenue and Third Street will be maintained for the first stage of construction. The map above shows the planned stages of construction.
Local traffic is urged to use Pattee Street in order to avoid congestion around the construction area. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution in the work area until the roadway is reopened.
Stages 2, 3 and 4 will be completed as time and weather allow this fall, with all remaining stages to be completed by spring 2023.
