Patrick Dwayne Moore, 32, of 1415 Otley Ave., Perry, was arrested at his home early Monday on charges of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness, fourth-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

A Perry man was arrested shortly after midnight Monday after he allegedly threw a beer bottle at the window of a vehicle, smashing the window and injuring someone in or near the vehicle.

Patrick Dwayne Moore, 32, of 1415 Otley Ave., Perry, was arrested on charges of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness, fourth-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

According to court records, officers of the Perry Police Department responded about 12:15 a.m. to the 1800 block of Fifth Street after someone “reportedly threw a bottle through the victim’s driver-side window, causing it to break and cut the victim’s cheek.”

Police made contact with Moore, whom the victim identified as the bottle thrower, and Moore “admitted to breaking the window of the victim with his fist” but “said he did not intend to cause injury to the victim.”

Moore reportedly sustained superficial cuts to his hands, arms and stomach from the broken glass, and the investigating officer found broken glass and blood droplets at the scene.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s office assisted in the arrest of Moore, who is scheduled to appear Sept. 3 in Dallas County District Court.
