Multiple firefighting agencies responded to a structure fire Monday afternoon at the former site of the Dexfield Diner in Redfield.

REDFIELD, Iowa — Multiple firefighting agencies are battling a structure fire here Monday afternoon at the former site of the Dexfield Diner.

The blaze at 904 First St. in Redfield was reported about 12:30 p.m.

The Redfield Volunteer Fire Department is fighting the fire at this hour, with mutual aid from the fire departments of Adel, Dexter, Earlham, Minburn and Stuart.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this hour. The Iowa Fire Marshal’s office has been paged.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS also responded.

At 2 p.m. the Perry Volunteer Fire Department was paged for ladder and tender trucks.

“Redfield might lose the entire corner and the GAR,” said a local resident at the scene. “Sad.”
