Perry breaks their team huddle before the start of the second half Friday at DC-G Sept. 22. Six Bluejays earned All-District honors.

Postseason athletic and academic recognitions in Class 3A District 2 were recently announced, with several Bluejay gridders honored.

Senior linebacker Adan Medina and senior offensive lineman Tyler Soll were both named to the All-District First Team. Medina finished with 41.5 tackles, including four tackles for a loss of yardage and two quarterback sacks while Soll, playing left guard, was the anchor of the Bluejay offensive front. Also selected for First Team honors was junior punter German Alvarenga.

Seniors Brandon Juarez and Janier Puente were both named to the District 2 Honorable Mention list, as were juniors Mark Campos and Reece Dunlap.

Perry finished 2-7 overall and 0-7 in District 2 action.

Seven Bluejay players and one manager earned District 2 All-Academic status, which requires a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Honorees must earn a letter and be either a junior or a senior.

Devon Archer, Gabe Cubillo, Nic Fellom, Brandon Kenyon, Ethan McFarland, Medina and Soll earned the distinction, as did team manager Emma Olejncizak.
