Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. for tonight's varsity game between Perry and visiting Greene County at Dewey Field.

A Monday loss to Gilbert followed a Friday setback to Greene County as Perry dropped consecutive games at Progressive Field.

Gilbert was a 20-2 winner in five innings of Raccoon River Conference play, with Greene County a 13-3 winner in a rare seven-inning game for Perry.

Monday’s game spun out of control for the hosts almost immediately, as the Tigers scored seven runs in their first at-bat. The two Perry runs came in the bottom of the fourth with the hosts already trailing, 15-0.

Caden Steva and Juan Hernandez each had singles and each scored for Perry, with Gavin Hegstrom driving in a run.

Perry used five pitchers, who surrendered a combined 20 runs (14 earned) on 14 hits and five walks in five frames.

Hegstrom, Drake Levan, Kaelen Davis, and Dalton Scott had hits against Greene County, with Davis, Scott, and Steva scoring.

Steva went 1-2/3 innings on the mound, allowing six runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks. Kaleb Lyddom tossed 3-1/3 frames of middle relief, yielding two unearned runs on two hits. He hit one batter, walked three, and struck out one. Levan toed the rubber for two stanzas, allowing five runs (only one earned) on five hits.
