BOONE, Iowa — Two men face attempted murder charges following a shooting in Boone Thursday afternoon that left a third man injured.
Nathaniel William Gilmore, 25, of Chicago and Charles Silas Curry, 29, of Des Moines were arrested Thursday and charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident that began about 1:15 p.m. Thursday in the area of Franklin Park at 13th and Carroll streets in Boone.
Boone Police officers and Boone County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of shots fired and found “a male victim who had received a single, non-threatening gunshot wound,” according to a law enforcement statement released Thursday.
Gilmore and Curry were arrested after a 10-hour manhunt by Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies and Boone Police Department Officers.
Gilmore and Curry are being held in the Boone County Jail. Curry has a record of multiple convictions in Johnson County, according to court records.
