A California man was arrested early Wednesday for third-degree sexual assault in connection with an alleged rape in West Des Moines in 2010.
Rahim Mohammad Khoshdel, 29, of San Diego, Calif., was arrested by a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff on a warrant for failure so appear for a June 6, 2019, arraignment on an original charge of third-degree sexual abuse.
According to a criminal complaint filed April 22, 2019, by the West Des Moines Police Department, Khoshdel allegedly forcibly raped a female Aug. 10, 2010, at 1320 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines.
Khoshdel was four or more years older than the victim, who was 14 or 15 at the time of the alleged sexual assault, according to the court record.
Khoshdel is held at the Dallas County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
