County workers thanked for 205 years of collective service

Twenty Dallas County employees from nine departments of the county government received certificates of appreciation Tuesday for their 205 years of collective labor on behalf of the residents of Dallas County.

Nine workers were recognized for five years of service, five for 10 years, two for 15 years and four workers for 20 years.

A spirit of gentle raillery prevailed during the presentation of the certificates.

Asked for comments, several of the county employees described the elected officials who hold the offices in which they work as “the greatest boss in the world,” but in all cases the bosses in question were present and listening attentively.

The bosses in turn, and more seriously praised, the dedication of the department employees who labor on behalf of the residents of Dallas County. Honored for their service were:
