Cresting of North Raccoon River forecast for Tuesday morning

The National Weather Service flood warning will continue until late Sunday evening for the North Raccoon River near Perry or from the Greene-Dallas County line to Adel.

At 3:15 a.m. Tuesday the stage was 16.5 feet or 1.5 feet above flood stage. Flood stage is 15.0 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

The North Raccoon River is forecast to rise to 19.8 feet or 4.8 feet above flood stage Tuesday morning and then begin falling to below flood stage by late Sunday evening.

At 19.0 feet, approaches to the U.S. Highway 169 bridge over the river north of Adel are impassable.
