The Dallas County Treasurer’s motor vehicle division will close at 4:30 p.m. Friday and will reopen Tuesday, July 23 in new offices in the east wing of the first floor of the Dallas County Courthouse.

The one-day closure will be used to relocate the offices to much roomier quarters, a longstanding aim of Dallas County Treasurer Mitch Hambleton.

“We’re bringing our motor vehicle services into the 21st century,” Hambleton said Tuesday. “These offices will serve the needs of Dallas County residents for the next 20 to 25 years.”

Services in the motor vehicle division include title transfers, replacement titles, vehicle registrations and license plates, registration refunds, notation and cancellation of liens, vehicle storage and junking certificates.

Among the new features of the motor vehicle division is a separate service window for dealers and a Qmatic queuing system for smooth and orderly customer service.

The Dallas County Treasurer’s motor vehicle division will be closed Monday, July 22 but will reopen Tuesday for regular business from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
