The 2019 Dallas County Foundation (DCF) grant application materials are now available online to prospective applicants, and the application deadline is Feb. 1.

The online application includes overview instructions, grant application for and an evaluation.

The DCF funds grant requests for projects that significantly impact the lives of Dallas County residents in the areas of health and human services, arts and culture, youth development, education, recreation or the environment and community betterment.

Grant awards range from $500 to $20,000. The DCF anticipates awarding more than $100,000 to grant applicants in 2019.

Applicants must be a 501(c)3, 5 or 6 organization or 107(b) unit of government or must affiliated with an organization that has one of these designations. The grant application deadline is Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at 5 p.m.

Thanks to the generosity of the Grow Green County Gaming Corporation, the DCF will be able to award additional dollars this year. Boone, Calhoun, Carroll, Guthrie and Webster County Community Foundations will also receive these non-competitive grant dollars.

A workshop offering assistance to DCF grant applicants, explaining application requirements and instructions, is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Adel Public Library at 303 S. 10th Street in Adel.

The workshop, including lunch, is free, and any qualified organization is welcome to attend. Attendance helps ensure proper grant submissions. Seating is limited. Kindly RSVP by Dec. 21 to dchill@minburncomm.net.

For those unable to attend the face-to-face workshop, a training video will be posted on the DCF website that covers the same information.

The Dallas County Foundation, an affiliate of Greater Des Moines Community Foundation, was established in 2005 to foster private giving, strengthen service providers and improve the conditions of the communities and rural areas of Dallas County. Most of the DCF’s funds derive from state-ordered sharing of gaming revenues from Iowa casinos.
