July 30, 2021

  • Robert Rubsam of Urbandale was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 6 and pulling a trailer when the trailer jackknifed, causing a bobcat to fall off the trailer and into traffic. No injuries were reported. Damage to the trailer and bobcat were estimated at $10,000.

Aug. 2, 2021

  • Michael Peckis, 51, of 19671 Hilltop Court, Perry, was arrested for first-offense OWI.
  • William Fargo of Creston was traveling westbound on U.S. Interstate 80 near the 113 mile marker when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $10,000.
  • A juvenile driver was traveling westbound on 165th Street when he or she lost control of the vehicle, and it entered the ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $1,500. The juvenile was issued a citation for operating without a valid driver’s license.
  • Zachary Ruth of Dallas Center was traveling in the 28000 block of U. S. Highway 6 when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $3,500.
  • John Nichols, 22, of 206 S.W. State St., Ankeny, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
