- Mobae Tewolde of Des Moines was traveling on Iowa Highway 141 when he turned north on I Court at a high rate of speed and left the roadway, striking a street sign. Tewolde was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

- De Soto Calvary Baptist Church at 23215 347th St. in De Soto reported someone broke into a garage located on the church property.
December 22, 2016
- Jake Steven Rhiner, 19, of 1916 Locust St., West Des Moines, was arrested in the 27000 block of Prospect Avenue for public intoxication.
- Linda Belew of Earlham was traveling in the 17000 block of Old Highway 6 when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,500.
- Michael Norman Spaulding, 23, of 518 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation on original charges of OWI and possession of a controlled substance.
