Dec. 15, 2022

  • A minor driver was traveling in the 15000 block of Iowa Highway 141 when the driver lost control due to weather conditions, and the vehicle crossed the median and struck a vehicle, driven by Zachary Cole of Woodward. No injuries were reported. Damage to the minor’s vehicle was estimated at $7,000, and damage to Cole’s vehicle was estimated at $16,000. The minor driver was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.
  • Amy Wheeldon of Casey was attempting to enter U.S. Interstate 80 at mile marker 113 when she lost control due to weather conditions, and her vehicle rolled into the ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
  • Jamie Van Syoc of Adel was traveling on R Avenue near Puckerbush Road when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $3,000.
  • Selam Gebreselassie of Grimes was traveling on Iowa Highway 141 near the Woodward off ramp when her vehicle began to slide on the icy roadway. A second vehicle, driven by Mario Cruz of Perry, attempted to avoid Gebreselassie’s vehicle, and the vehicles collided. No injuries were reported. Damage to Gebreselassie’s vehicle was estimated at $4,000, and damage to Cruz’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

Dec. 17, 2022

  • Eric Michelberger, 45, of 31625 R Ave., Adel, was arrested for possession of contraband in a correctional institution and driving while barred.
  • Larry Burris of Pleasant Hill was traveling near 18308 180th Lane when he lost control of his vehicle, and the vehicle entered the ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $2,000.
  • Abigail James of Bayard was traveling in the 24000 block of Iowa Highway 141 when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $2,500.

Dec. 18, 2022

  • Dennis Felt, 79, of 20175 W Ave., Dallas Center, was arrested for domestic abuse assault.
  • Amy Frohn, 42, of 208 Locust St., De Soto, was arrested on a warrant for third-degree harassment.
