July 18, 2019

  • William Shirbroun of Fort Dodge was traveling in the 17000 block of Iowa Highway 141 Diagonal when a vehicle driven by Daniel Carreno Nevarez of Perry entered his lane and struck the passenger side of his vehicle, causing him to enter the median. No injuries were reported. Damage to Shirbroun’s vehicle estimated at $5,000, and damage to Carreno Nevarez’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000. Carreno Nevarez was issued a citation for improper use of lanes.

July 19, 2019

  • Abraham M. Sharif, 21, of 807 Elk Ridge Dr., Elkhorn, Neb., was arrested for interference with official acts, assault on persons in certain occupations and improper lane change.
  • Amelia Lee Knoke, 32, of 4520 72nd St., Urbandale, was arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance without prescription.

July 20, 2019

  • Gabrielle Johnson of Pella was traveling east near the 100 mile marker of U.S. Interstate 80 when she began to hydroplane due to the heavy rain, and she lost control of the vehicle, which entered the median and struck the cable barriers before coming to a stop. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $4,000, and damage to the cable barriers was estimated at $3,500.
  • Andrew David Bierbaum, 30, of 7425 Wistful Vista Drive, West Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation on an original charge of theft.

July 22, 2019

  • Johnathon Patrick Oliver, 27, of 4140 Hubbell Ave., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation on original charges of possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication.
  • Chidera Angelina Nwankwo, 24, of 3820 81st St., Urbandale, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of OWI.
  • Mason Daniel Russell, 25, of 12778 Lincoln Circle, Clive, was arrested on a warrant for theft.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
