July 23, 2020
- Jeffrey Snedden of Adel was traveling north on N Avenue and attempting to turn left onto 315th Court when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Antonia Schlapia of Adel. Schlapia swerved into the southbound lanes in order to avoid hitting Snedden, causing a vehicle driven by Brian Weidenthaler of Panora that was going south on N Avenue to enter the ditch and strike a culvert in trying to avoid hitting Schlapia’s vehicle. The drivers were checked and cleared by Dallas County EMS. Damage to Schlapia’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000. Damage to Snedden’s vehicle was estimated at $1,000, and damage to Weidenthaler’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000. Schlapia was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured and clear distance.
July 24, 2020
- Michael Paul Parson, 41, of 921 30th St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of theft.
