Funeral services for Debra Ann Goodman, 60, of Perry were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Perry. Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 1 p.m. at the Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, with the family present from 4-7 p.m.

The Rev. Ken Bose provided words of comfort. Casket bearers were Timothy Wadle, Isaac Thompson, Ian Thompson, Doug Morgan, Jacob Morgan and John McCormick. Dave Cannon sang, “In The Garden” and “Amazing Grace,” while accompanied by Michelle Pinegar on the piano. Interment took place at the Valley View Cemetery in Perry. Following the service at the cemetery, a luncheon at the church was served.

Debra Ann Goodman, daughter of Burton Kenneth Morgan and Phyllis Blanche Long Morgan, was born April 26, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and died suddenly July 29, 2021, in Federal Dam, Minnesota.

Deb grew up in Madrid and graduated from high school there in 1979.

She met Daniel Lee Goodman and the two were united in marriage Sept. 14, 1985, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Perry. They were blessed with two daughters, Tonya and Kristin, and two sons, Calvin and Kyle.

The family made their home in Perry. They moved to Texas for a year, then back to Perry to be closer to family.

Deb worked as an RTW at Woodward for more than 30 years, and then she became a manager at the Granger Nursing Home.

She enjoyed shopping, garage selling, collecting jewelry, camping and fishing.

Deb loved her family with all of her heart, especially her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Perry.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Phyllis; her brother, Kenneth Morgan; and brother-in-law, Ronald Goodman.

Deb will be greatly missed by her husband, Dan Goodman of Perry; daughters, Tonya (Tim) Wadle and Kristin (fiancé Tasha Miner) Goodman; sons, Calvin (Porsha) Goodman of Perry and Kyle (Lacie) Goodman of Perry; beloved grandchildren, Sophia Hemphill, Noah Goodman, Taylor Wadle, Cody Goodman, Tessa Wadle, Ad’lin Goodman, Liam Goodman and baby Callie Goodman; brother, Doug (Jackie) Morgan of Woodward; sisters, Rene (Robert)  Gong of Madrid, Susan Morgan of Madrid and Joni Morgan of West Des Moines; uncles, Bill (Melinda) Long of Woodward and Larry (Sharon) Long of Madrid; aunt, Donna Walker of Boone; brother-in-law, Larry (Kim) Goodman of Perry; sisters-in-law, Judy (Jack) Stout and Teddie (Dick) Sayles of Perry; other relatives; and many friends.

Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of local arrangements.
