The Des Moines offices of the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a dense fog advisory until 12 a.m. Saturday for the Perry area.
Visibility of less than one mile is expected to be widespread, with many locations at one-quarter mile visibility or less.
Motorists are advised to slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of their vehicles because low visibility in dense fog makes for limited sight distance and hazardous travel.
