Dense fog advisory takes effect at 9 p.m. Wednesday

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Des Moines has issued a dense fog advisory from 9 p.m. Wednesday until noon Thursday for the Perry area.

Visibility of one-quarter mile or less is expected in the dense fog. Motorists are advised to slow down, use headlamps and leave extra of distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of yours.

Along with Dallas County, dense fog is forecast for Emmet, Kossuth, Winnebago, Worth, Palo Alto, Hancock, Cerro Gordo, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Sac, Calhoun, Webster, Hamilton, Hardin, Crawford, Carroll, Greene, Boone, Story, Audubon, Guthrie, Polk, Cass, Adair, Madison, Warren, Adams, Union, Clarke, Taylor, Ringgold and Decatur counties.

Along with Perry, dense fog is forecast for the cities of Estherville, Algona, Forest City, Lake Mills, Northwood, Manly, Emmetsburg, Garner, Britt, Kanawha, Mason City, Clear Lake, Pocahontas, Laurens, Rolfe, Fonda, Gilmore City, Humboldt, Eagle Grove, Clarion, Belmond, Hampton, Sac City, Lake View, Odebolt, Wall Lake, Schaller, Early, Rockwell City, Manson, Lake City, Pomeroy, Fort Dodge, Webster City, Iowa Falls, Eldora, Ackley, Denison, Carroll,
Jefferson, Boone, Ames, Audubon, Exira, Guthrie Center, Panora, Bayard, Casey, Waukee, Adel, Des Moines, Atlantic, Greenfield, Stuart, Adair, Fontanelle, Winterset, Earlham, Indianola, Norwalk, Carlisle, Corning, Creston, Osceola, Bedford, Lenox, New Market, Mount Ayr, Lamoni and Leon.
