Perry Public Works Department snow-removal vehicles were out in force Tuesday morning.

Perry residents contended Tuesday with some 12 inches of snowfall that fell over the previous 18 hours.

Snow plows and dump trucks of the Perry Public Works Department were seen clearing the streets and scattering anti-ice material.

Classes were canceled at all Perry schools. The Perry Public Library and McCreary Community Building closed early Monday but reopened Tuesday at 10 a.m.

The blizzard of January 1971 was also one for the record books.
