DMACC announces Perry area’s spring semester honorees

The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) has released the names of students graduating at the end of the 2019 spring semester as well as scholars attaining the DMACC President’s List and DMACC Dean’s List.

More than 1,600 students graduated from the DMACC campuses in Ankeny, Boone, Carroll, Newton, Urban and West at the end of the spring 2019 term, including the following 12 Perry-area scholars:

  • Gabriela Castillo Asturias of Perry, Culinary Arts
  • Cory Fallis of Minburn, Welding and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding
  • Spencer Kirk of Grand Junction, Wind Turbine Technology
  • Samuel Knowles-Murphy of Perry, Liberal Arts
  • Felicity Koski of Perry, Accounting: Payroll
  • Sarah Myers of Dawson, ASEP-General Motors
  • Cinthia Naranjo of Perry, Liberal Arts
  • Andrew Pentico of Perry, Sports Management
  • Vladimir Rivera of Perry, Homeland Security
  • Benjamin Robles of Perry, Business Administration
  • Jennifer Swanson of Minburn, Early Childhood Education
  • Noah Wilkening of Perry, Liberal Arts

Seven Perry scholars were also named to DMACC’s spring semester president’s list. To qualify for the president’s list, a student must have earned a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 during the term. Achieving the fall president’s list were:

  • Heidi Chapman of Perry, Early Childhood Education
  • Suzy Fentress of Perry, Liberal Arts
  • Jennifer Fuentes Miranda of Perry, Liberal Arts
  • Nichole Greene of Perry, Early Childhood Education
  • Shane Onnen of Perry, Human Services
  • Aaron Simmer of Perry, Liberal Arts
  • Haroline Tavarez Sosa of Perry, Liberal Arts

DMACC also announced the spring 2019 semester dean’s list, including the following 13 Perry scholars. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a grade point average (GPA) between 3.5 and 3.99. Making the spring dean’s list were:

  • Lorena Andrade of Perry, Pre-Nursing
  • Alexis Bixler of Perry, Liberal Arts
  • Lexie Cox of Perry, Liberal Arts
  • Kassandra Eiteman of Perry, Accounting Specialist
  • Kory Fellom of Perry, Computer Aided Design
  • Laura Hernandez of Perry, Financial Administration
  • McKenna Iles of Perry, Liberal Arts
  • Felicity Koski of Perry, Accounting Specialist
  • Teah Marchman of Perry, Liberal Arts
  • Chanel McKenzie-Meyers of Perry, Liberal Arts
  • Edwardo Medina of Perry, Respiratory Therapy

DMACC also released the names of 16 Perry High School students in the Career Advantage Program eligible for the 2019 spring semester President’s List. To be eligible, a student must have completed a minimum of six credits and earned a 4.0 grade point average for that semester. Career Advantage students attaining the President’s List were:

Twenty-one Perry-area high school students in the DMACC Career Advantage Program were named to the 2019 spring semester Dean’s List. To be eligible, a student must have completed a minimum of six credits and earned a 3.5 to a 3.99 grade point average for that semester. Career Advantage students attaining the Deans List were:
