Swinton Tarkij, 19, of 3307 McKinley St., Perry, was charged with first-degree harassment, disorderly conduct-fighting or violent behavior, first-offense OWI, interference with official acts, public intoxication and underage possession of alcohol.

The incident began about 8 p.m. Wednesday at the McCreary Community Building at 1800 Pattee St., where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a
disorderly male who “started vaping in the middle of a rec league basketball game and was asked to leave,” but he allegedly refused to leave and “threatened to shoot a staff member in the head,” according to court records.

An officer made contact with Tarkij, who was “in a running motor vehicle” in which the officer allegedly “could see several open containers in plain view,” according to court records.

Tarkij allegedly resisted detainment and transportation, and the officers were compelled to use “a full cage,” according to court records.

Tarkij is held in the Dallas County on a $3,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 29 in Dallas County District Court.
