Eight PHS musicians perform in 2018 Drake Honor Band

Eight Perry High School musicians were invited to perform in the 2018 Drake Honor Band,  marking the students as some of the finest in the nation.

Representing PHS in the Drake Honor Band were Miguel Constanza, Adrianna Eastman, Quinn Helmers, Sebastian Hernandez, Jocelyn Hopkins, Dannah Karolus, Zoe Meyer and Allie Taggart.

The Perry Instrumental Music Director is Brad Sparks.

The Drake University Honor Band Festival provides outstanding high school musicians with the opportunity to work with some of the nation’s finest conductors in select band settings.

During the two-day festival, students and directors develop their skills through rehearsals and clinics with guest conductors and members of the Drake music faculty. The festival culminates in two evening concerts, with the Drake Bands and the Honor Bands performong a wide variety of the music for wind bands.

The Honors Concert Band and Honors Wind Ensemble are composed of more than 200 students from across Iowa and Nebraska.
