Eighteen deaths, 539 new COVID-19 cases reported Tuesday

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) was notified Tuesday of 18 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 289. An additional 539 positive cases were reported for a total of 12,912 positive cases, including 712 in Dallas County.

Some 5,618 COVID-19 victims have recovered, giving the state a 43% recovery rate.
