ADEL, Iowa — Three social-service organizations — Community Partnerships for Protecting Children, New Opportunities Inc. and the Iowa Community Action Association — are teaming up to host a table-top exercise in poverty simulation designed to build empathy across social classes.
The free event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10 from noon until 2 p.m. at the Country Lane Lodge at 29300 Prospect Circle in Adel.
The poverty-simulation exercise is open to anyone in the community who wishes to walk in the shoes of their customers or clients who might be experiencing economic challenges.
