BOUTON, Iowa — Fire destroyed a trailer in rural Boone County Friday afternoon but was stopped from spreading to nearby structures by the prompt response of volunteer firefighters.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, which started about 2 p.m. at 1012 335th St. in rural Boone County about three miles northeast of Bouton.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this hour. The 2.3-acre property is owned by Curtis Jurgensen, according to county records.
The Bouton Volunteer Fire Department and Woodward Volunteer Fire Department responded and requested mutual aid from the Madid, Minburn, Ogden and Perry fire departments. The Boone County Sheriff’s office and Dallas County EMS also responded.
