Fire destroys camper on Perry’s northeast side Monday

Fire destroyed a camper about 9:45 a.m. Monday at 13256 Kimble Pl., just north of the Raccoon River Valley Trail and just outside the corporate limits of Perry.

Fire destroyed t least oneĀ  recreational vehicle near 18th and North streets Monday morning.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which was reported about 9:45 a.m. at 13256 Kimble Pl., just north of the Raccoon River Valley Trail and just outside the corporate limits of Perry.

It appeared at least one vehicle was consumed in the morning fire, which sent a powerful lot of black smoke into the air and prompted many calls to the Perry Police Department, a police spokesperson said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation at this hour by the Perry Volunteer Fire Department, which responded along ith the Perry Police Department.

The two-acre property is owned by Randall and Shirley Harmann, according to county records.
