Firefighters attack blaze in rural Woodward house fire

The Woodward Volunteer Fire Department, with mutual aid from firefighters from Bouton, Madrid, Minburn and Perry, are battling a rural house fire Monday morning west of Woodward.

No injuries were reported in the fire at 12492 Quinlan Ave., which was reported about 10:30 a.m.

The blaze appeared to start in the basement of the house. Firefighters are now attacking the fire in the attic, according to public safety radio traffic.

The two-story, 128-year-old house is owned by Matthew “Fizz” Van Pelt, according to county records.
