It is with deep regret that the members of the Fine Arts committee have decided not to sponsor a concert on the Fourth of July this year.
Like you, we enjoy the celebratory nature of these concerts and feel that it will leave a hole in the activities of that day. Because it is several weeks out from the Fourth, we are having to make a decision about the concert without the benefit of knowing how risky it will be for people to be in public gatherings at that time. But given the projections for the prevalence of the COVID-19 disease in Iowa, we are choosing to take the most cautious action and not sponsor an event that could be risky for people to attend.
This is often one of our best-attended events and we regret that we feel the need to cancel it. We apologize to our patrons as we had planned to sponsor the concert when we asked for your financial support.
We hope that you will continue to support the Fine Arts concerts with your contributions and attendance in the future. In the meantime, please be safe.
Como miembros del comité de las Bellas Artes lo sentimos mucho anunciar que hemos decidido no tener un concierto para el Cuarto de Julio este año.
Como Uds., gozamos el ambiente de celebración de estos conciertos y pensamos que dejará un hueco en las actividades de ese día. A causa de que nos faltan varias semanas para llegar al 4 de julio, tenemos que tomar una decisión acerca del concierto sin el beneficio de saber cuán peligroso será para que personas se reúnan en público ese día. Pero, las proyecciones que tenemos para la prevalencia de la enfermedad Covid-19 en Iowa, escogemos seguir el curso de precaución y no tener un evento que podría ser peligroso si personas asisten.
Este concierto frecuentemente es uno de nuestros eventos con más personas que asisten y lo sentimos que tenemos que cancelarlo. También pedimos disculpas de nuestros patrones porque habíamos planeado tener el concierto cuando pedimos su apoyo financiero.
