More than 100 beer lovers attended Saturday's sixth annual Dallas Center Home Brewers Fest in order to share some fine craft beers and raise donations for local causes.

The 100-plus people attending Saturday’s sixth annual Dallas Center Home Brewers Fest all had at least one thing in common with U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

They love beer.

The yearly celebration brings together members of the Dallas Center home brewers club and a slew of fellow beer lovers in order to share the small-scale craft beers and raise donations for local causes. This year’s beneficiaries were the Sail DC transportation program and the Dallas County Shop with a Cop holiday program.

“We had a really fun evening,” said home brewer and Dallas County Treasurer Mitch Hambleton of Dallas Center. “Don’t know how much money we raised yet, but it seemed to be a great event. Certainly the social event of the year in Dallas Center. Good beer and great people.”

This year’s potent potations included a hard apple cider, multigrain IPA, New England IPA,  Kolsch, porter, mild dark ale, Belgian caramel quad, Concord Tripel, dark English barleywine, imperial stout, helles bock, heather ale and a red IPA.
