Fire fully engulfed and destroyed a garage in Lincoln Township Sunday morning.
There were no injuries in the blaze at 23521 G Ave. about two miles north of Iowa Highway 44.
The fire was reported by property owner Kurt Swensen shortly after 5 a.m. By the time the blaze was attacked by water at 5:40 a.m., the garage and several nearby vehicles were fully engulfed.
A light northwest wind kept the flames from the 100-year-old house nearby, which suffered superficial damage to the exterior.
Swensen, his wife and their two Labrador retrievers escaped unharmed.
The Redfield Volunteer Fire Department, Minburn Volunteer Fire Department, Dallas Center Volunteer Fire Department, Redfield EMS and Dallas County Sheriff’s office responded to the fire.
