Chad Maurice Lehnhoff, 46, of Grand Junction was arrested on a Greene County warrant Monday for indecent exposure.

A Grand Junction man was arrested Monday on a Greene County warrant in connection with a July 6 incident in which he allegedly masturbated outside his residence and in the presence of several witnesses.

Chad Maurice Lehnhoff, 46, of 505 Main St. E., Grand Junction, was charged with indecent exposure.

The alleged incident occurred about 2:45 p.m. Monday, July 6 in the 500 block of Main Street E., where a Greene County Deputy Sheriff responded to a report that “a male was
out in the street yelling obscenities.”

A neighbor who witnessed the alleged crime told the responding deputy that Lehnhoff “was outside earlier yelling obscenities.” The neighbor said he personally “did not have a problem with this, because he is aware his neighbor has mental issues,” according to court records.

The witness said Lehnhoff then “had come outside, laid in the grass and was masturbating.” He said “there are a lot of children in the neighborhood, including his daughter, that do not need to be seeing that.”

Two other witnesses told the deputy that “they were outside with their children when this was occurring, and they had to tell their children to go inside” when they observed Lehnhoff “masturbating outside,” according to court records.

One witness “advised something needed to be done” with Lehnhoff “because he has serious mental health issues, and he needs help.”

According to court records, Lehnhoff called 911 about 3:15 p.m. and claimed “he was raped in his front yard.” He called 911 again about 4 p.m. and said “he and his daughter were raped by his husband.”

The deputy attempted repeatedly to make contact with Lehnhoff July 6. The deputy could plainly see Lehnhoff inside his residence, but Lehnhoff “did not answer the door.”

An arrest warrant was ordered July 20 in Greene County District Court and served July 27.

Lehnhoff was held in the Greene County Jail before being released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 12 in Greene County District Court.
