A highlight of the June meeting of the Dallas County Area Retired School Personnel Association (DCARSPA) Friday morning was the presentation of a new LED projector to the Spring Valley campus of the Perry Lutheran Homes.
The gift was in gratitude for Spring Valley’s willingness to host the retired teachers’ monthly meetings, and it also served a useful purpose in filling a need that visitors often encounter when presenting to the group.
DCARSPA treasurer Linda Andorf researched the projector market and purchased the unit, affectionately known as a “proxima” among students of PHS Information Services Director Rich Nichols.
The Perry Lutheran Homes Nurse Manager and Assisted Living Administrator Kelly Moore and Marketing Coordinator Maureen Haglund accepted the projector on behalf of the Spring Valley facility. Representing DCARSPA were members Sue Leslie, Julie Walstrom, JoAnn Harmelink, Karen Menz, Connie Sheehy, Karen Einck and Laura McCord.
A number of civic and religious groups meet in the Spring Valley community room and will be able to make use of the new device.
