October 17, 2019

  • A deputy removed a deer from the roadway on 220th Street near Orchard Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on 220th Street near M Avenue. A 2009 red Chevrolet Impala, driven by Samantha Henderson, 26, of Jefferson, was traveling west and being driven carelessly when it struck the driver side of an eastbound 2001 Chevrolet S-10, driven by Anthony Renner, 62, of Jefferson. Henderson was taken by Greene County Ambulance to the Greene County Medical Center for minor injuries. Both vehicles in the accident were totaled.
  • A deputy investigated a complaint of a railroad employee urinating toward the highway near 220th Street and W Avenue.
  • Samantha Henderson, 26, of Grand Junction was booked into the Greene County Jail on a warrant for failure to appear.
  • John Roberts, 21, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail to serve a sentence.
  • A deputy investigated a child-custody dispute in the 600 block of Adrian Street in Churdan.
  • A deputy, the Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and Greene County Ambulance responded to the two-vehicle accident on 220th Street and U Avenue. Matthew Wetrich, 41, of Jefferson was traveling east on 220th Street in a 2016 Kia Sedona when Jacob Lovell, 24, of Perry failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of Wetrich. Lovell was driving a 2015 Chrysler 200. Both drivers were transported to the Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Ambulance. Lovell was issued a citation for failure to obey a stop sign.
  • A deputy investigated a suspicious person on 230th Street near Linwood Avenue.
  • A deputy attempted to located the emu that was spotted in the 300 block of 180th Street.
  • A deputy attempted to locate a cow that was spotted in the 2400 block of K Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a driving complaint on 220th Street near E Avenue.
  • The Greene County Sheriff and deputies assisted the Guthrie County Sheriff’s office in Stuart.

October 18, 2019

  • A deputy investigated a car-deer accident in the 1700 block of Quaker Avenue. William Hick, 61, of Rippey struck a deer with his 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, causing an estimated $6,000 damage.
  • A deputy assisted a motorist on 257th Street and N Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a dog bite in the 2200 block of R Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a civil issue in the 900 block of Cedar Street in Scranton.
    A deputy investigated a illegal-burning complaint on S. 16th Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on 220th Street near E Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a civil issue in the 500 block of S. Main Street in Paton.
  • A deputy assisted the Iowa Department of Human Services with a home visit in the 1600 block of Newberry Avenue.
  • A deputy assisted an ambulance in the 700 block of E. Main Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy investigated suspicious people on Main Street in Scranton.

October 19, 2019

  • A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a traffic stop on 220th Street near a retail store. Dale Spaulding, 51, of Ellsworth was arrested on a warrant for second-offense domestic abuse assault out of Hamilton County. After Spaulding was brought to the Greene County Jail, he was found to be hiding controlled substances. Spaulding was charged with two-counts of possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility. He was booked into the Greene County Jail.
  • A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 700 block of E. Main Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy investigated a criminal mischief complaint in the 700 block of Walnut Street in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated a phone scam in the 100 block of 250th Street.
  • A deputy investigated an illegal-dumping complaint on 222nd Street and Parkland Avenue.
  • A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a traffic stop in the 200 block of S. Vine Street.
  • A deputy attempted to locate a cow out in the 2400 block of K Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a driving complaint on 250th Street near Quaker Avenue.

  • A deputy investigated suspicious persons in the 200 block of State Street in Paton.
  • A deputy investigated an abandoned four-wheeler on 320th Street near E Avenue.
  • A deputy assisted the Greene County Medical Center with a patient.
  • A deputy investigated an alarm in the 500 block of N. 16th Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy investigated a civil issue over the phone, but the complainant refused to give an address.
  • A deputy investigated a phone scam in the 700 block of E. Main Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department in the 400 block of N. Chestnut Street.
  • A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 1400 block of 160th Street.
  • A deputy tried to locate reported debris on the roadway on N Avenue near 250th Street.
  • A deputy picked up a found wallet in the 1000 block of N Avenue.
  • A deputy assisted an ambulance in the 700 block of E. Main Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy assisted an ambulance behind the bowling alley in Jefferson.
