Editor’s note: ThePerryNews.com always strives to satisfy our readers’ hunger for breaking news, but sometimes breaking lunch is even more important than breaking news. With our readers’ needs always in view, ThePerryNews.com will publish monthly menus for the Perry public schools and the HomeCare Services congregate meals.

Breakfast is free for all students attending Perry Community schools. All schools serve both breakfast and lunch. K-5 elementary school students are offered a fresh fruit and vegetable snack daily. The snack is made available by a grant provided by the USDA. Students participating in an academic enrichment program may also have access to an afterschool snack.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the US Department of Agriculture dietary guidelines.
