Reports of a house fire at 403 11th St. in Dallas Center about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday brought area firefighters to the scene.
The Dallas Center Volunteer Fire Department responded with assistance from other local agencies.
The house is owned by Teresa L. Steeve, according to records of the Dallas County Assessor.
Firefighters appeared to control the blaze prior to its causing extensive structural damage to the house, but the origin of the fire and extent of the damage are unclear at this hour.
