Iowa Arboretum and Gardens announce summer concert series

The Iowa Arboretum and Gardens in rural Madrid will host its first-ever Summer Concert Series starting June 14.

The Iowa Arboretum and Gardens in rural Madrid will host its first-ever Summer Concert Series starting June 14.

The musical evenings will take place on the second Tuesday of each month, June through September, from 6-8 pm at the Beckwith Grand Pavilion.

Concert tickets can be purchased at each event and are free for members (kids 12 and under free) and $5 for non-members. Food trucks will be on-site, and beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

“Bring a lawn chair and blanket and join us in the trees!” said Iowa Arboretum and Gardens Event Specialist Amber Schmidt.

The arboretum will host concerts on the following dates:

  • June 14 – Matt Woods Band, with food by Comfort Food
  • July 12 – NOLA Jazz Band, with food by Weinie Wonderland
  • August 9 – Dueling Fiddles, with food by Smokin’ Bid Dawgs
  • Sept. 13 – Diva and the Deacons featuring Tina Haase Findlay, with food by Smokin’ Big Dawgs

The Iowa Arboretum is an educational non-profit organization. All proceeds from the concert series will support the organization’s mission. The Iowa Arboretum and Gardens at 1875 Peach Ave. in rural Madrid are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gardens, grounds, woodland and prairie trails and gift shop are open to visitors during normal business hours.
