  • A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of N. Oak Street.
  • Michael Godwin requested an officer at 303 S. Grimmell Road for harassing posts on Facebook. Once again the officer advised Godwin to block the subject or close his social media accounts.
  • H&R Block turned in a wallet that had been found in the 200 block of N. Wilson Avenue. The officer contacted the owner, who later picked up the wallet at the LEC. No loss was incurred, and all the items were still in the wallet.
  • Stacy Springer reported a careless driver in a semi-tractor trailer eastbound on 220th Street, approaching Jefferson from the west. The officer followed the subject for several miles east from Jefferson and did not witness any infractions.
  • An officer arrested a man at 105 N. Walnut St. for outstanding arrest warrants. Seth Blitz, 25, of Perry was arrested on a probation-violation warrant from Dallas County.
  • Officers assisted a motorist with mechanical issues in the 200 block of W. Madison Street.
  • Randy Graven called and said he struck a deer near Russell Street and Grimmell Roadd. Graven reported no damage to his vehicle. The officer removed the deer from the roadway.
  • An officer issued a parking violation notice in the 500 block of S. Oak Street for truck/RV/trailer parking.
  • Derek Ott reported receiving harassing text messages from a known female in Jefferson. The officer contacted the female and advised her to end the unwanted contact with Ott.
  • A caller reported a man walking in the 100 block of N. Wilson Avenue and punching business buildings and screaming. The officers made contact with the man in the 100 block of S. Wilson Avenue. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Benjamin Farrell Borkowski, 21, of Jefferson for public intoxication.
  • Dan Scheffers said he witnessed two subjects dressed in black attempting to break into his back door at 1202 Westwood Drive. Scheffers said he chased the suspects from his property. Officers were assisted by Greene County Deputy Sheriffs is searching the area, but no evidence to support the report was located.
  • Officers were called to 300 E. Washington St. for a civil vehicle repossession dispute.
  • Rachel Kuehl reported a missing mule and donkey from 1405 S. Elm St. The officer assisted in locating the animals and getting them back in the pen.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
