February 26, 2018

  • An officer located an unlocked business door in the 1500 block of N. Elm Street.
  • An officer assisted a motorist at 204 W. Harrison Street.
  • Officers executed a search warrant at 206 N. Oak St. The warrant was related to an ongoing burglary investigation.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 900 block of W. Harrison Street.
  • Melinda Heater reported a loose dog in the 700 block of W. Harrison Street.
  • Arial Hess reported an assault. An officer is investigating.
  • Phil Sloan reported an obstruction on the sidewalk in the 400 block of S. Cedar Street.
  • An officer responded to the intersection of S. Locust and E. Harrison streets for a two-vehicle traffic accident. Rachel Smith of Jefferson was traveling westbound on E. Harrison Street in her 2011 Dodge Caravan, and Jason Cerveny of Jefferson was traveling southbound on S. Locust Street in a 1997 Ford Taurus. As the two met at the uncontrolled intersection of S. Locust and E. Harrison streets, Cerveny did not yield to Smith and struck the front end of her vehicle. The Dodge Caravan sustained $1,000 in damages, and the Ford Taurus sustained $2,000 in damages. Jason Cerveny, 44, was issued a citation for failure to yield to the vehicle on right.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 100 block of Ram Drive.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 400 block of S. Chestnut Street.
  • Cindy Mason reported losing her cell phone.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 400 block of W. Sunset Drive.
  • An anonymous female reported a vehicle with its hazard lights left on at Durbin Automotive.
  • Megan Saffell reported her driver’s-side window broke as she was driving by the intersection of W. Washington and N. Oak streets. An unknown object struck the window and shattered it.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 1200 block of N. Elm Street.
  • Jackie Cram reported a possible intoxicated driver.

February 27, 2018

  • An officer located an open door at 1801 N. Elm St.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 1000 block of W. Washington Street.
  • Brad Homolka reported an unauthorized use of a credit card. An officer is investigating.
  • Rod Eighmy reported an IRS phone scam.
  • Kathy Ritchie reported a solicitor at the intersection of N. Elm and 220th streets.
  • Carter Fetter reported a dog running loose in 300 block of E. State Street.
  • John Martinez, 23, was arrested at 777 Wild Rose Lane on an outstanding Calhoun County arrest warrant for failure to appear on original charges of carrying weapons and possession of a controlled substance.
  • Criminal mischief to the hood of a vehicle at 101 Ram Drive was reported to an officer. The officer is investigating.
  • Linn Price reported two males riding skateboards and impeding traffic in the 100 block of W. Washington Street.
  • Dakota Nelson reported finding a credit card in a parking lot at 106 W. Washington St.
  • An officer responded to 701 N. Elm St. for a possible burglary.
  • An officer assisted the Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 200 block of E. Adams Street.
  • An officer responded to 103 S. Walnut St. for a verbal dispute.

February 28, 2018

  • Louis Olsen reported her vehicle was struck while parked at 207 W. Gallop Road. The 2007 Ford Taurus had a reported $3,000 in damages to the driver’s side. An officer is investigating.
  • Tim Cadden reported a civil property issue occurring at 621 S. Cedar St.
  • Mary Campbell spoke with an officer concerning one of her daycare children.
  • An officer assisted the Iowa Department of Human Services with a home visit at 205 N. Locust St.
  • A caller reported suspended driver in the 700 bf N. Wilson Avenue.
  • An officer assisted with a medical call in the 700 block of Wild Rose Lane.
  • Sheila Pound reported receiving the IRS phone scam call. She did not incur a loss and ended the call.
  • A traffic stop was performed in the 700 block of Wild Rose Lane, resulting in Rickie Eugene Tuhn, 56, of Grand Junction being issued a citation for driving while suspended, and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
  • A traffic stop in the 300 block of S. Georgia Street resulted in Kera Shriver of Auburn being issued a citation for violation of conditions of restricted license and failure to provide proof of security liability.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
