A Jefferson woman was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of sex crimes.
Victoria Leigh Ann Gordon, 21, of 406 E. Washington St., Jefferson, was charged with lascivious acts with a child and indecent contact with a child.
According to the Jefferson Police Department, the arrest occurred after an officer assisted an Iowa Department of Human Services case worker to investigate an alleged sexual assault that occurred sometime between April 6 and May 1, 2021.
“The case worker had been given social media posts of a female involved in sexual
situations,” according to police, and “children were present in some of the videos.”
Gordon is held in the Greene County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 12 in Greene County District Court.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
