PANORA — The offensive woes that have hampered the Panorama boys cagers of late showed up again Tuesday, this time in a West Central Conference battle with visiting Madrid.
The Tigers (5-10, 4-9) took full advantage, rushing to a 30-15 halftime lead and taking it from there to post a 51-31 win. Madrid had previously defeated Panorama, 54-45, Dec. 13 and earned a season sweep with the victory.
Panorama (5-12, 5-9) did not have a player reach double digits in scoring. The hosts trailed by nine points, 15-9, after one frame before facing a 15-point halftime deficit. The third quarter ended with the Tigers holding a 40-19 advantage, a gap the Panthers could not close.
Gracen Welberg had seven points for Panorama, with Luke South, Michael Allen and Jacob Iseminger scoring four points apiece. Kolby Shakelford and Blaine Barger added three points apiece, with two points each from Trey Cobb, Mitchell Wagler and Jeramy Randol capping the scoring.
Coy Kirkpatrick’s 19 points led Madrid, with Landon Burke adding 17. Braden Gibbons had five points and Keith Braunshweig four, with Hunter Henry, Landon Klatt and Parker Niemier each adding two points.
Panorama hosts Van Meter Friday before visiting Woodward-Granger Tuesday and Ogden Feb. 3.
