A fire in the kitchen at 114 E. Ninth St. in Madrid was quickly controlled Saturday night thanks to the quick response of multiple agencies.
There were no injuries in the incident.
The blaze was reported at 8:30 p.m. in the house at the southwest corner of E. Ninth and S. Union streets. The 118-year-old home is owned by Travis Howland of Madrid, according to Boone County records.
Responding to the house fire were the Madrid Police Department, Madrid Volunteer Fire Department, Woodward Volunteer Fire Department, Huxley Volunteer Fire Department, Slater Volunteer Fire Department, Boone County Sheriff, Boone County Search Rescue, Boone County Emergency Management and Boone County EMS.
