December 26, 2016

  • An officer responded to a medical call at the Madrid Home. The patient was transported by ambulance to the Mary Greeley Medical Center in order to be treated for a fall.

December 27, 2016

  • An officer returned property to a Madrid resident that was turned in over the weekend.
  • An officer spoke to a Madrid resident who was involved in a minor accident. She stated that they did an exchange of information and that both vehicles left the scene.
  • An officer performed a vehicle unlock at the Madrid Home.
  • An officer received a complaint of credit card fraud.
  • An officer attempted to locate someone wanted on several felony warrants.
  • An officer took a report of a suspicious white vehicle in the area of Southern Prairie Drive. The occupants of the vehicle were described as looking into the neighborhood cars, and then they left the area. The report was made to dispatch approximately 20 minutes after the incident. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

December 28, 2016

  • An officer received a call of a suspicious male sitting in a vehicle parked the wrong direction on Iowa Highway 210 on the west side of town. An officer responded but could not locate the vehicle.
  • An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Jonathan Lane for a burglary in progress. The officer arrived and found the mom was just playing a prank on the children.
  • An officer was contacted by a detective from the Des Moines Police Department who was trying to make contact with someone he needed to speak with. The officer left a card in the person’s door with his contact info.
  • An officer was contacted by a detective from Council Bluffs Police Department who was trying to make contact with someone he needed to speak with. The officer left a card in the person’s door with his contact info.
  • An officer took a report of criminal mischief in the 200 block of S. State Street.
  • An officer responded to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle on N. Water Street. The officer was unable to locate any vehicle matching the description given.
  • An officer stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of W. North Street regarding the rear lamps on a towed trailer working intermittently. The driver was advised and agreed to take the trailer home and correct the issue.

December 29, 2016

  • An officer received a call of a suspicious vehicle in Boxtown. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
  • An officer arrested Nate Fuson of Madrid on multiple Madrid warrants and transported him to the Boone County Jail. Fuson was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession with intent to deliver MDA. All three charges are Class C Felonies. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. These charges stem from a search warrant executed by the Madrid Police Department Nov. 4, 2016.
  • An officer spoke with the manager of the Meadow Estates regarding removal of several abandoned animals in a trailer.
  • An officer assisted Boone County Deputy Sheriffs with a car-versus-deer accident just south of the city limits.
  • An officer issued a DNR salvage tag to a Madrid resident so he could take the carcass from the previous accident.

December 30, 2016

  • An officer received a call from a Madrid resident having problems with an ex-spouse, and she asked for extra patrol.
  • An officer assisted the Boone Area Humane Society with the removal of five cats from an abandoned residence in the 900 block of S. Kennedy.
  • An officer responded to the 600 block of S. Union Street for a civil child custody issue.

December 31, 2016

  • An officer met with a runaway juvenile who returned home. The officer advised both the juvenile and parent. The Boone County Sheriff’s office and the Center for Missing Children were both advised to remove the juvenile from their systems.
  • An officer received a report of a black dog running in the area of Edgewood Park. The dog ran upon the officer’s arrival and refused all commands given to stay or sit, but the dog was apprehended by several nice people who were in the park. The dog was detained in the rear of the patrol vehicle and questioned, as the officer recognized this dog as a suspect in a previous running at large and attempted assault case several years ago, involving a rabbit. In light of its evasive answers, the dog was ultimately warned for interference with official acts for running from police and released to her owner.
  • An officer assisted Madrid Rescue with a medical call at the Meadow Estates.

January 1, 2017

  • An officer responded to the 300 block of W. 21st Street for a medical emergency and assisted Boone County EMS.
  • An officer received a report of dog running at large in the park. The officer checked the area and was unable to locate the dog.

January 2, 2017

  • An officer took a report of credit card fraud. An investigation is ongoing.
  • An officer responded to a medical call in the 700 block of E. North Street.
  • An officer was notified of drug activity taking place in town. The officer will follow up on the complaint and provide extra patrol in the area.
