A Marshalltown man was arrested in Waukee early Friday after allegedly discharging a handgun in the air during an altercation.
Marquez Duwan Jordan, 18, of 114 N. center St., Marshalltown, was charged with reckless use of a firearm and intimidation-assault with a dangerous weapon.
The incident began about 3:30 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of Northbranch Drive in Waukee, according to court records, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a fight.
According to court records, Jordan admitted taking a “gun from the back pocket of” one of the parties to the fight, and he “shot the gun into the air several times.”
Jordan is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $10,300 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 8 in Dallas County District Court.
