WEST DES MOINES — Minburn Communications has been awarded the 2017 Ripple Effect IMPACT Award by the Iowa Area Development Group (IADG) in partnership with Aureon, a West Des Moines human resources firm.

With offices in Minburn, Woodward and Perry, Minburn Communications “is a critical partner in the successful state-certification of the city of Perry’s 134-acre Industrial Park and the ongoing certification process for the city of Woodward’s 186-acre Eco-Park,” according to Sue Cosner, vice president for community initiatives with the IADG.

Cosner said the Ripple Effect IMPACT award recognizes Minburn Communications for its engagement with its local communities and its collaborative contribution to local economic development.

Minburn Communications General Manager Deb Lucht said she was pleased to receive the award on behalf of the company.

“We are honored to receive the IMPACT Award,” Lucht said Tuesday. “We understood the dramatic impact that having development-ready business parks has on our cities’ ability to compete in the economic development field. We have delivered fiber infrastructure to these sites; and we stand ready to assist prospective companies with all their broadband and other telecommunication needs to ensure a competitive and feasible location option for them in either Perry or Woodward.”

Bill Clark, a member of the Minburn Communications Board of Directors, said the “company’s strategic pursuit of economic development has served our communities well and has resulted in critical growth for a wide range of stakeholders.”

Lucht said programs like Ripple Effect are important tools for rural communities trying “to attract businesses, create jobs and spur economic growth. To do that, we must provide all the infrastructure amenities of a metro area on a rural budget, and that takes the vision, creativity and teamwork from the entire community.”

Cosner said the Ripple Effect IMPACT award is awarded annually in recognition of economic development leadership, investment in and contribution to communities served by an Aureon shareholder.
