More than 175 mental health advocates from across the state will gather Friday for the National Alliance on Mental Illness Iowa (NAMI Iowa) annual conference at the Ramada Tropics Resort and Conference Center at 5000 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines.

DES MOINES, Iowa — More than 175 mental health advocates from across the state will gather Friday for the National Alliance on Mental Illness Iowa (NAMI Iowa) annual conference at the Ramada Tropics Resort and Conference Center at 5000 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines.

The agenda for the all-day conference features keynote speakers from NAMI National and Iowa stakeholders, including Lyndsey Fennelly, a former Iowa State University women’s basketball player who was drafted in the WNBA. Fennelly is an advocate for mental health who will speak about her journey with mental illness.

Keynote addresses will also be delivered by Suzanne Robinson, assistant director of National Education Programs at NAMI National, and Dr. Amy Shriver, pediatrician at UnityPoint Health-Blank Children’s Pediatric Clinic.
