Ogden Police Report July 29-August 4

July 29, 2018

  • A Boone County Deputy responded to a report of a male located in the grain dryer in the 400 block of W. Locust Street. A Boone County Deputy called Ogden Fire Department and Ogden First Responders. The Ogden Fire Department was able to cut a panel and remove the male subject from the grain dryer. An Ogden Police Officer took the male to the Boone County Hospital for evaluation.
  • An officer responded to an intrusion alarm at an Ogden residence. The alarm was set off by a family friend. The officer called owner of home and left message.
  • An Ogden resident caught a German shepherd dog and brought to the city kennel. The owner was notified where to pick up the animal.
  • An officer assisted a stranded motorist.
  • An officer received a report of a vehicle eastbound on 220th Street from Ogden that was having difficulty maintaining its lane of traffic. The vehicle was stopped by a Boone Police Officer just west of Story Street on 220th Street.
  • An officer assisted a person locked out of a vehicle.
  • An Ogden resident reported she had received a text from an unknown phone number, saying they were going to take money out of her bank account. The resident notified her bank, and they were going to watch for this transaction.
  • An officer received a complaint of a barking dog at 414 N.E. Fourth St. No one was at the residence but the officer was able to make contact with the owner of the dog, who was at work. The owner said he would check on dog, but he has food and water.

July 30, 2019

  • An officer assisted the Ogden First Responders and Boone County Ambulance.

July 31, 2019

  • An Ogden resident reported being harassed via Facebook. An officer spoke with the offending party and advised the person to stop.
  • A juvenile male reported his juvenile brothers were outside playing with a lighter. An officer arrived at residence just as mother was getting home. The officer and mother spoke with the juveniles.

August 1, 2019

  • An Ogden resident reported having a woodchuck caught in a egress window well. An officer caught the woodchuck and released it in the country.
  • An Ogden resident reported that a 14-year-old male left the residence without permission. An officer picked up the boy and returned him to residence.

August 2, 2019

  • An officer was asked to check on the welfare of some children. There was no one at the residence.
  • A Boone County Deputy was called to an Ogden residence regarding a child-custody issue.

August 3, 2019

  • A landlord reported a pickup truck with expired tags was abandoned on one of her rental properties. An officer drafted a letter for landlord to send to the registered owner, notifying the party that if vehicle is not removed in 10 days, it will be sold.
  • An officer assisted a Boone County Deputy with a traffic stop.
  • A Boone County Deputy responded to a report of someone knocking on doors in the 200 block of S.W. Sixth Street. The deputy was unable to locate anyone in the area.

August 4, 2019

  • A Boone County Deputy was asked to check on the welfare of an elderly woman. The deputy was able to make contact with a family member, who picked up the woman and took her home.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
